1. Try to meditate, do yoga and deep breathing exercises
Anxiety and rigidness is a condition of the brutal winter season, so it can be shown on your face as a strained grimace. A regular daily meditation practice will help loosen you up, outside and in. Exercising and yoga are also the most efficient ways to quicken a slow digestion, to improve your metabolism and to help in the reduction of toxins from the body
Tip: An outstanding breathing exercise known as Kapalbhati Pranayama (breathing exercise) is amazing for creating internal warmth and for developing fire (Agni) for your digestive systems. This is a powerful method which cleanses and detoxifies the lungs and gives your skin a prompt glow. For best results, you should try to do this exercise for 10 minutes every day on an empty stomach.
2. Daily oil massages
This wonderful technique is a must in your daily routine if you want to try and achieve a moisturised youthful shine. To do this at home, massage some warmed up sesame oil onto your skin, targeting your whole body including your face. After leaving it on for fifteen minutes, wash it off in the shower.
3. Consume warm cooked food
Warm cooked cuisines made with ghee (clarified butter) and sesame oil are both good for a soothing outcome on your organs and tissues. Making soups from root vegetables (Turnips, carrot, ginger, onions) will help you feel more relaxed. For a perfect breakfast option, try oats with roasted seeds and almond milk. And, whenever possible, stay away from cold drinks(smoothies included!), wraps or sandwiches and any type of salad.
4. Drink ginger tea through the day
Ginger is known as a ‘superfood’ and has rightfully earned its title. Consuming ginger helps break up the mucus and quickens the pace of the elimination of toxins throughout the day and increases the flow of blood circulation which results in the glow of your skin. To prepare yourself the ginger tea, just take 6 centimeters of grated ginger and add the slices to a large cup of boiling water. Let the boiling water and ginger sit for ten minutes. Make sure to drink every half an hour for a beautiful look and feel.
5. Try and have Triphala
In traditional Ayurvedic medicine, Triphala is one of the best answers for beauty as it has an amazing capability to detoxify the body while giving it a healthful look. Three fruits are involved (Haritak, Bibhitake and Alma) which all have their own healing powers, however when combined become significantly more brilliant! Triphala improves the process of removing unwanted toxins, makes the hair and skin shine and powers you up on vitamin C.
