Why are we in such a hurry to look slimmer?

Lauren and Chloe were having a Body Wrap in The Only Way is Essex (Towie) yesterday and having an interesting discussion surrounding slimming and the quick Why are we in such a hurry to look slimmerways to look slimmer. Why is it that so many teenage girls want to look like models and then at 30 a lot want to look more womanly? Do women want to lose weight to look nice in a bikini or because they want to look more attractive? Is it peer group or cultural pressure that makes younger women want to look like models or is it for health or occupational reasons?

At the age of 30 is it that some women have had babies, have grown a little fatter as a result or they do not feel they need to look as slim as the incentive to find a partner is not there anymore or is it for health reasons?

These are all questions which only the individual person can answer. However it is clear from statistics, women more than men feel a need to look slimmer. Younger women more so than older women go to gyms and visit salons for slimming body treatments.
Most people want easy, immediate results in losing weight and looking slimmer. Body Wraps such as may give quick guaranteed results within one hour but they are not a substitute to slimming and exercise.

Body wraps help in removing fluids from the outer (epidermis) and inner skin (dermis). They contain clays or marine extracts such as seaweed to draw out impurities from the skin outwards. Clays such as the Indian Gopichand clay, once in contact with water, is like a sponge in that it swells up. The electric platelets in the clay help let out the toxins from the skin’s surface and bind them to the Gopichand’s clay’s porous surface. The seaweed in the paste helps absorb fluid based toxins that are trapped between cells. This eliminates impurities from the body.

By applying the Cellophane film helps to cause more pressure in the area. This helps squeeze the tissue and tighten the space previously filled by the fluid. The film also helps increase the body temperature locally. This helps the body sweat out toxins and fluids further. The heat helps to redistribute fat deposits in the cells.

“Any long-lasting effects of slimming have to take into account diet and exercise. However, if body wrapping is going to give encouragement in doing so or one wants to look as toned as possible for a special occasion body wraps have a part to play”, says Ravi Bhanot, manufacturers of CoolSlim Body Wraps.
