How is it that most people fail when it comes to continuing what they started, especially when it comes to getting their dream body? Still wondering? It is relatively simple. There are three reasons for it:
• Unrealistic expectations
• Haste
• Involvement with half measures
1. Unrealistic expectations
These relate to the way you rate, from the start, the time and effort needed to achieve the desired results. We tend to make optimistic estimates, driven by our impatience to quickly solve a problem. You expect from yourself not to postpone things, you expect to get back to the gym immediately and see good results within a month. The questions you should ask yourself: Have I thought about the involvement and effort required for this transformation? Are my expectations including the necessary sacrifices? How many hours will you devote each week, how many minutes every day? How will you organise your time so as to reconcile your daily routine to the expected progress? Here comes the challenge, especially when you are alone and facing all your responsibilities, your limited time, appetite and weaknesses, your emotions.
These unrealistic expectations are the reason why so few people manage to change themselves. Not because they could not, but because they are alone against all challenges of the transformation.
2. Haste
You want to lose weight! I believe you. The thing is that you want to lose weight right now.In this instant. To get rid of your problems, your pain, your disappointment now! Haste is the root of failure and a source of maximum profit to those who are in the business of selling unrealistic expectations and promises( i.e: diets), relying on the human desire to escape personal pain. Hence the mistrust in weight loss offers and the instinct to give up on doing anything. Fight back and change your attitude towards things! Be moderate, especially concerning food re-education, physical and mental expectations. No more haste, no more greed.Otherwise, the longer you spend looking for shortcuts and solutions that will work for/instead of you, the longer the road will be.
3. Half -hearted Involvement
You start with energy, but after 2-3 days you feel like taking a break and start again eating badly due to stress( or many other reasons), you delay going to gym, you postpone weight loss ideas. Then after a few days, you resume work. Two steps onwards, two steps backwards. What is lost in this type of behaviour is not only time but spiritual enthusiasm! Because of the weak start is difficult to see the results. Slowly you’ll start dropping your guard and replace it with the hope that next time you will succeed. Now is the time to search a support group, where you’ll be motivated every day to keep going and supported to overcome obstacles that will imminently appear in this process.
What’s important is to learn to be patient with yourself, to do things right and build your will in order to be able to commit and stay involved 100%. So you can get 100% results.
Remember: in the struggle for weight loss, there are no shortcuts to success.
